Magic Number delivered the project end-to-end, taking ownership of concept development, technical production, logistics, venue management and live event delivery.
Our responsibilities included:
• Creative concept development and experiential design.
• Design and engineering of a bespoke gravy dispensing system.
• Procurement and conversion of a Luton van into a fully branded activation vehicle.
• Design and fabrication of the custom gravy dispense unit and serving infrastructure.
• Full vehicle branding and installation.
• Venue sourcing and booking across all three cities.
• Management of permissions, power requirements, access planning and operational logistics.
• Recruitment and management of event staff and brand ambassadors.
• On-site production management and activation delivery.
• Health, safety and food hygiene management throughout the campaign.
The Challenge
What appeared to be a simple brief — dispensing hot KFC gravy from the side of a van — quickly became a complex engineering challenge. Working through multiple rounds of testing, prototyping and refinement, our team developed a bespoke pumping and delivery system capable of safely and consistently serving gravy throughout the activation.
Alongside the technical development, we coordinated a multi-city tour programme, securing high-footfall locations and managing all operational requirements to ensure a seamless consumer experience.
The Result
The activation successfully transformed a playful brand partnership into a tangible, real-world experience. By combining creative thinking, technical problem-solving and flawless operational delivery, Magic Number created a standout campaign that generated excitement around the collaboration while delivering an engaging and memorable experience for thousands of consumers across the UK.
